We got together with our favorite Austin Oil Acolytes, Pinthouse Pizza, to give a little love to the king. An extremely tasty lot of Pinthouse's selected Amarillo from Oregon and our selected Amarillo from Washington. Amarillo By Morning, Amarillos On My Mind.

16 oz can filled 12/01/23 into a nonic pint glass.
L: SRM 2 Pours radiant light lemon yellow with a thin white head that quickly recedes to medium-thick edge foam, good fine steady carbonation bubbles, random skeletal soapy lacing.
S: Melon, bright citrus zest, generally fruity, lemon, a hint of white grape, has a light industrial funky dank notes, a hint of alcohol with warming.
T: Melon & rind, lemon zest, earthy vinous hops, grains, a hint of berries, distant green apple, it leans towards lightly sour, well balanced sweet candied malts, pine resin, it is lightly sharp and has a long lingering finish.
F: Crisp medium to med-light bodied feel with a wet middle and a fairly fast moderately drying finish. Dryness lingers and grows. Has very light grit in the finish.
O: A very fruity tasting and crisp feeling beer that is dignified and agreeable. It yields a delicate sour note that balances out tastes of zest, resin and candied malt sweetness. I'm calling it "elegantly wild". It is very good to excellent in its style.

Smelling this brings me back in time about twenty years....love this aroma...it's what my favorite IPA's smelled like back then...lemons...oranges...grapefruits....clean citrus...on the aroma and the taste....the malt backing lends a crackery impression but that just sets the canvas for these old school hop flavor. Nothing too bitter or sharp. Just a nice drinking west coast IPA in a day and age when they are far outnumbered by the rich, opulent hazy IPA's...What a treat this was...

Crisp, clean IPA. Light on bitterness. Getting lemon and earthy, grassy hops. Moderate mouthfeel. Departure from the haze bombs for sure. Overall pretty easy to drink a pint.

Pours a cleat light lemon golden color with a thin white head. Smell is sweet with fruity/floral notes and oranges Taste has citrus ,pineapple ,melon and peach. Mouth feel is crisp but not so bitter not like a WCIPA. It was tasty with some pine and grapefruit in finish.
