Reminiscent of musky melon and citrusy sunshine, this crispy lil' number was dreamt up with our buds at Crosby to celebrate the magic that is their estate grown Comet hops. Real fruity, real delicious. Real homegrown. Real Estate.

Can. White head. Clear golden color.
Blackstack can’t seem to make a good west coast. No matter what they have they house sweetness in all of their ipas. This is close to west coast, but I still taste the hazy sweetness a bit. Dank, weedy, and a bit resiny. Green green and floral. Solid, but the sweetness needs to go.

Pours a clear lemon yellow color with a white head . Smell is citrus forward with herbal and grassy notes . Taste has oranges and tangerine ,lemongrass , herbal berries and pine resin. Mouth feel fizzy spritzy not very bitter to style some dryness and missing on the baked bread caramel malts

16oz can into a pint glass.
L: Pours crystal clear bright straw yellow w/a 1" bright white head w/medium descent to edge foam, fair carbonation. Essentially no lacing.
S: Dank hops, light diesel, cabbage, grassy, floral, wildflowers, light citrus, caramelized malts, light yeast.
T: Floral hops, dankness, lemon zest, very clean tasting w/a clean finish, some citrus, light melon, sweet caramel and light honey in the center but dank at beginning and end. Bitterness is not intense but it goes deep.
F: Crisp, soft, creamy, smooth, med-light bodied mouth feel w/a slick, fast finish that is lightly drying.
O: Almost like a session IPA but not as crisp though it is EZ drinking, quaffable and quenching. A uniquely hopped, fruity & lightly zesty IPA w/earthy undertones. No alcohol detected. It is very good in it's style.

16oz can. No dating information found.
Clear, pale gold colored body. Thin finger of white head, which sticks around. Leaves layered rings of lacing.
Aroma is cabbage-y and catty. Melon and citrus in the background. Briefest of hints of sweet pine.
Taste is hop controlled, which means a lot of vegetal flavor. Some allusion to citrus and pine. There is a bitter bite at the end, but not major. Where are the malts? Overall this is dank, and this extends into the aftertaste.
More soft than crisp on the mouth feel. Flows easily through the mouth. Good carbonation.
Is this termed West Coast because of its clarity and slight bitterness? There is no sticky pine essence, just somewhat of a reminder. Quite grassy.

Labeled as West Coast IPA and I would say this is the closest to that style Blackstack has done to date. Slight haze to a pale straw color with a somewhat fizzy head. Aroma is dank and catty with a bit of pine in the shadows. The flavor takes a 180. It tastes fruity, minty, herbal, grassy, with a catty weed finish. I believe this is the driest beer that I have tried from Blackstack which I appreciate. But there shouldn't be a complete lack of malt flavor. This seems almost pilsner malt instead of pale malt which the hops just overwhelm. Not old school bitter but bitter by todays standards. Light body and a bit fizzy. Interesting flavor but not perfectly executed.
