Taking inspiration from the crispy, yet delicately roasty Schwarzbiers brewed in Germany. Handles extremely well for how light the body is. Take it for a spin.

From a 16oz can purchased at the brewery last weekend.
The beer pours dark brown in color. The head was an off white color and 1 finger in size. The head retention was very poor and no lacing on the glass.
The nose has notes of caramel and cola on it. Nothing too strong.
Taste - I am getting some licorice to start off the flavor and a bit of bitterness with it. I get caramel notes more toward the back. The caramel provides a check to the bitterness.
Crisp and clean body. The body is decent. Slight drying feeling.
Not bad at all.

Appearance: Pours a dark color with a massive tan head that is overflowing the glass. SRM of 23-24. (3.50).
Aroma: Moderate aromas of grains and yeast. (3.50)
Flavor: Mild flavors of grains, yeast, lightly roasted. Yeasty with a green pepper flavor. (3.50)
Feel: Medium-bodied, yeasty, grainy. Full. Dry. (4.00)
Compared to Köstritzer Schwarzbier 1/2023: Pours similar, larger head. Milder aromas. Milder dark malt and roast. More grains and yeast. Dryer and less flavor. Winner: Kostritzer
Compared to Bahaus/Hammerheart Schwarzbear 1/2023: Pours similar, larger head. Milder aromas. Milder dark malt, roast, smoke. More grains/yeast. Dryer and less flavor.
Overall: Honestly not the best one here. Overflowing pour and yeasty make me wonder if it is somewhat spoiled. Yeasty, grainy, with a green pepper flavor. But not very dark or roasted flavors. (Rating: 3.55)

Dark cola color, not much head. Mild scent, sweet with some pine. Taste is lightly sweet, with some chocolate and nuttiness, back end being bitter: flower, citrus rind and smoke. I love this style and this one delivered big

From a 16oz can:
Appearance: Clear brown, good rocky head.
Smell: Slight grassiness, minerals, not strong.
Taste: Smooth, mild sweetness, hint of chocolate, mild nuttiness.
Overall: A nice dark lager as a change of pace. Not a whole lot going on in the aroma, but the taste is nice with a nutty finish that I enjoyed.

16oz can into a 16oz tall lager glass.
L: Pours rusty dark brown w/dark honey edges, thin light khaki head, low carbonation, no lacing. Looks like cola.
S: Caramelized malts, a hint of honey, lightly floral. Rather clean.
T: Lightly sweet toasted grains, significant citrus zest, raisins, light char, wildflowers, bitter dark chocolate. Bitterness is gently metallic.
F: Bright & snappy med-light bodied mouthfeel that has a medium long drying finish. It approaches tawny and is cola-like.
O: A very crisp & fresh tasting dark lager with stern bitterness, light sweetness and a fairly dry finish. It is lip smacking good, pleasant and easy drinking and is excellent in it's style.
