Ah, wedding season. Love is in the air. You've already fully pitted out your finest and there are still, like what, 20 minutes left in this ceremony? The only thing on your mind: this reception better have an open bar. New Zealand Riwaka, Citra Cryo, Azacca Cryo & Amarillo Cryo. You know, for when you're crying on the inside after you pay $8 for that glass of super buttery chardonnay.

Poured from pint can into imperial pint glass.
A: Pours a super hazy orange yellow hue with 2 inch frothy white head with excellent retention. Leaves generous lacing behind.
S: Sweet lemon and grapefruit, grassy, hint of mango cream, and subtle peach and floral notes.
T: Sweet lemon, mango cream, herbal grass, fresh sweet grapefruit, juicy peach, and a subtle earthy floral note. Wow!
M: Medium body. Extremely soft, juicy, and creamy feel. Lovely! Tropical and citrus sweetness lingers nicely on the palate.
D: Superb hop expression (Riwaka in particular) leads to a special brew! Excellent summer supper to take your time and enjoy. Seek it out!

Aroma is lemon/citrus hops and a small hint of soap. The flavor is big lemon/citrus, malts/grains, tropical fruit and a mildly sweet /grapefruit hop finish.

Can. White head. Hazy golden orange juice color.
Very juicy. Melon, peach, strawberry, orange. Soft, tropical, a bit of yogurt cream. All the good Bs stuff I like. Good to see they haven’t lost it.

Appearance: Pours a nearly completely hazy (~10% clarity) medium to deep orange color with a moderate white head. SRM of 7-8. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas of orange, pineapple, green citrus, some sweet mango, papaya underneath. Green citrus flower and pine off the back end.
Flavor: Strong flavors of orange upfront that evolves into pineapple. Then some strong green tropical papaya and citrus. Some mango sweetness follows underneath with a slight green citrus and pine note to balance the sweetness off the finish. Finish leans dry.
Feel: Medium-bodied. Lighter than expected. Good carbonation. Finish was cleaner than expected.
Compared to BlackStack DDH Dad Jokes 8/12/22: Pours a slightly lighter color. More sweet orange juice. Less green citrus, tropical fruit, pine, and mango notes. More complexity here. Winner: Open Bar.
Compared to BlackStack Trust the Process 8/25/22: Pours a slightly darker color. Stronger aromas. More green pineapple, honeydew melon, and green mango. Similar body and sweetness. More green, but similar.
Compared to Drekker Synaptic Cleft 8/26/22: Pours duskier. More green tropical fruit and melon. Less pineapple, citrus rind and flower. Smoother and less bitter. Both are top of their game, but this was smoother.
Overall: A World-Class NEIPA here. This one showcases the New Zealand Riwaka hops well with the green citrus, mango, and slight pine notes to balance the juicy sweetness. Finish was slightly cleaner than expected for 8%. Tons of green and tropics. Maybe the best one I've had from BlackStack to date. (Rating: 4.41)

The look is murky, yet bright, a nice yellow-orange color. The smell is fruity and dank. Orange, grapefruit, and honeydew scents jump out of the glass, with an earthy, bitter, and grainy finish. The taste is juicy, with mild bitterness. It tastes like grapefruit juice with orange juice ice in it. It has a slight hop burn, with a buttery aftertaste. The mouthfeel is smooth and crisp tropical fruit juice, with light carbonation. Overall, this is a good beer.
