I think I finally found it, guys. I finally found the perfect hazy/juicy/NE IPA. This is unbelievable. This is truly the nectar of the Gods.
That's not just the beer talking. I literally had one sip and hopped on this website within seconds, my first time logging in in almost a year.
Bright yet rich. Vibrant yet mellow. Crisp yet thick. So all-encompassing, it hits every note I crave in a non-West Coast IPA. Citrus and floral elements in perfect harmony.
Call me crazy, but I think of the "floral" taste as soapy. Some NE IPA's have it in spades, it's this bright thick floral taste that I just love. Usually the IPA's that have it are pale and bright, yet murky.
It is so easy for this style of IPA to become too sweet, but here the sweetness is absolutely perfect. It is the perfect quality of sweetness in the perfect quantity. Magic.
I just burped and that may have been the most pleasant-tasting burp of my life, I kid you not. What more can I say, it is the HAZY IIIPA I have been searching for since I first tasted any non-West Coast IPA. Not only is it the best Black Stack has ever done, in my opinion it is the best ever. And I don't say that easily, you can look at all my reviews and see I have never before said that about any ale.

EDIT: It should be noted I drank the beer at the temperature that I choose to drink most beers at, which is about room temperature. Not only am I a beer advocate but I am a ROOM TEMP BEER advocate. You just taste so much more, there's really no getting around that. Now with an ale like this or any other hazy, I store it in a refrigerator to keep it fresh, and then take it out a few hours before I know I'm going to drink it. Not only does room temp beer taste better (if it's a quality beer) but it also metabolizes better - the liquid is much closer to your internal body temperature. Cold water metabolizes slower and actually can slow down your digestion and take longer to hydrate you. Well, a similar thing happens with beer since beer is a liquid. It is my firm belief that all bars should have at least some room temp options for beers, especially if it is a beer taproom that fancies itself on being all about artisanal brews.
