Combining some of our favorite elements from West Coast & New England style IPAs with comically drinkable results. Utilizing a water profile between what we typically do for either of the two with a fairly balanced sulfite to chloride ratio & a tightly knit combo of Strata, Mosaic, Talus, Simcoe & El Dorado Cryo that will have you in stitches. Appearance: Pours a semi-clear (40% clarity) light and bright yellow color with a strong and light white head. SRM of 4. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas of lemon, pineapple, grapefruit, citrus, and pine. (4.00
Flavor: Strong flavors of orange and lemon citrus, lemon, citrus, zest, citrus, flour, and some bright pineapple and pine off the end. Clean and somewhat dry. (4.25)
Feel: Medium body, strong, carbonation, clean and dry finish. Mild bitterness. (4.25)
Compared to BlackStack Strictly Business 11/2023: Pours lighter, similar head. Stronger aromas. More lemon citrus, citrus flower, bright pineapple and pine. Less sweet orange, melon. Lighter and cleaner. Winner: Threading The Needle
Overall: Threading The Needle is a NE/WC IPA blend with some good hop combinations for flavors of lemon citrus, citrus flower, bright pineapple and pine. Clean and dry, but not really bitter. This may be what some call a NEIPA masquarading as a WCIPA. It's bright, juicy, and by most accounts I'd call it a NEIPA as it doesn't have much bitterness either, although it is slightly cleaner and clearer than most hazies. Definitely not a WCIPA, I'm not sure what it is, but I enjoyed it. (Rating: 4.13)
