Clear dark amber to brownish-red with a convex tan head settling to a persistently thick yet fine blanket.
You know I had to get the doppelbock! This one is estery yeast-forward with notes of caramel apple and cinnamon, but also roasted pear and a touch of dark toast.
A fine, firm carbonation runs through the medium-light body into a tingly, almost wet finish.
While okay, it'd be a tough comparison to the award winning competition on the other side of the blimp hangar.
