A: A big beer which means a goblet pour at TBBC. Pours a stunning ruby red hue with no real head. No bubbles or lace noted. Looks rather flat sitting in the glass.

S: Tons of nice sweet malt pours from the glass. Hints of carameled summer fruits are what I detect right up front. A blast of sappy pine comes next along with some grassy floral hops. Hints of alcohol can be detected but this one is all about balance in a BIG way. Big flavors really come together nicely.

T: This one is a duel of the senses. Malt vs. Hops who will win. The malt comes out of the gate running. Big bold and sweet. It is very think in the mouth and the sweetness makes a wonderful introduction. The hops do come plowing thru though and when they do they take over. Nice reisinous pine flavors with hints of fresh green grass are able to cut thru the wall of malt. They battle right down to the end with sweet malt and bitter hops both melding together in unison in the finish. Hints of booze linger as well giving just a slight hint at the ABV that this one packs.

M: Full bodied and thick. Low on carbonation but nice.

D: It is a big beer, but rather drinkable. The smaller goblet serving allows you to have several but beware this one will catch up to you.

Wow a Double Amber Ale as they described it.

Appearance: Deep reddish, amber color with a good bubbly head and sheats of lacing on the sides. Crystal clear with a truly beautiful ruby color and off-white head.

Smell: Absolutely wonder full, fresh hop aroma just explodes from the glass. Like you just openned a ziploc full of fresh hop buds of various varieties. Fresh citrus, grass, pine, herbs, and just wonderful hops and resin.

Taste: Wonderful solid malt foundation that is quickly and completely overrun with fabulously fresh hop flavors or citrus and a myriad of fresh hop flavors. Truly a wonderfully pleasing balance and flavor. This was easily my favorite beer and the only one I ordered more than one of on my two trips.

Mouthfeel: A little sticky, but otherwise fantastic.

Drinkability: Wonderful, except for the amazingly well hidden 8.5% ABV which if you don't watch will sneekup on you. You could easily drink many of these, but watch out for too many.
