Black. Dark tan head, good retention, good lacing.
Smell is malt, light hops, light alcohol, vanilla, smoke.
Taste is similar with malt, smoke, caramel and vanilla.
Warm & toasty, slightly chewy but not nearly enough body for the style as far as I'm concerned.
A good brew from a good brewery but left me wanting more, and not in a good way. The thought of a beer recipe still under construction kept popping into my noggin.

Appearance: Arrives at the bar with a double dark chocolate color and a 1" tan head that drops to a ringlet but leaves plenty of lacing on the way down
Smell: Dark chocolate with dark fruit such as figs and dates
Taste: Stars with a significant dark fruit combination of dates and figs that are joined by dark chocolate, mid-palate; after the swallow, the flavors dry out somewhat and provide a bittersweet chocolate finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Drinkability: A fruity flavor forward Baltic that has considerable merit; just a little too sweet to drink more than one
