Locust Lane Craft Brewery "Stout"
on tap at the brewery on 1 April 2017
4.5% ABV, nitrogenated

Look: Opaque brown-black body beneath a creamy tan/khaki head. Very good head retention and lacing.

Smell: Chocolate with some cereal and a soft roastiness.

Taste: As in the aroma, chocolate with cereal grain sweetness and a soft roastiness. Moderately bitter. Finishes dry with some residual fading sweetness and a clear note of dark chocolate.

Feel: Medium-light in body with a soft, smooth, moderate carbonation.

Overall: A really nicely balanced, soft and easy to drink stout that holds back on bitterness and the sharpness that roastiness can give. Very easy to drink. Satisfying.
