After emptying the contents of a pint can into a clear glass liter mug, a hazy apricot-amber beer is revealed. Its head is off-white and rather modest. The smell is vague and bland. There's a little citrus, but virtually no malt, nor hops. Lactose has a way of knocking those things down. The taste brings a little more character, but not much more. The citrus aspect comes through a little better and it brings a modest bite at the finish. Although this is a hybrid milkshake IPA, it's not as bad as many. The body isn't too thick and it's not sticky at all. Likely, the Citra bite at the finish, no doubt abetted by the Simcoe, is good enough to salvage this from total rejection. That modest head barely survived the drinking session and the glass lacing was scant. But for an IPA with lactose, it's not bad overall.
