Poured from a 16 oz can that I bought in North Carolina.
Pours a thick, hazy gold color with pink shading and thick sludge at the bottom of the can. In the glass it looks like fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice, not beer. Very little foam. Fresh citrus and tropical fruits mix in the nose. Blood orange is the strongest aroma component to me, with mango in the background and an herbal/spicy note in the end that, strangely, reminds me of a holiday ale. The flavors have many of the same fruit notes, but citrus is even more heavily favored over tropical fruit than in the nose. This is accompanied by a bracing sourness, almost as sharp as pure lemon juice. Thick body, but without significant sweetness and with a dry, fruity finish. Moderate carbonation. Sharp sourness makes it difficult to determine the level of hops bitterness. Low to moderate alcohol presence.
This beer is delicious. It comes across like a fresh-squeezed juice you might get in a tropical resort, but with strong, yet pleasing sourness. I could get onboard with this as a breakfast drink!
