Second Coming from Resident Culture Brewing. Received from @nc41 in BIF 12. Received 10/8/20. Reviewed 10/16/20.
Undated 16 oz can. Stored at home at 42 degrees and served at 45 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 53 degrees.
Appearance – 4.25.
First pour – Pale straw (SRM 2), hazy.
Body – Pale straw (SRM 2), murky and opaque. When held to direct light, same.
Head – Large (Maximum 7.2 cm, aggressive center pour), white, low density and fluffy, average retention, diminishing to a ten to fifteen mm undulating crown with a thick partial cap and islands of foam remaining on the glass. Second pour produces a tight one cm head fed by effervescence.
Lacing – Poor. Partial torn band of tiny to small bubbles. See also above.
Aroma – 4 – Smells tropical/citrus. No malt, no yeast.
Flavor – 4.5 – Begins tropical/citrusy and slightly bitter with much myrcene pepperiness but lacking the hemp. Refreshing. No malt, no yeast. No alcohol (6.5 % ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Ends with a vapory bit of more complex alcohols against the hard palate.
Palate – 4 – Medium, watery, soft but lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4 (Minus 0.25 point for undated can) A very nice peppery IPA with tropical and citrus notes – like a rye brew sans rye.

Beautiful, soft and balanced pastel yellow-orange body topped with a thick and frothy white head. Excellent citrus and grapefruit aromas. Bold citrus taste backed with a biscuit-like cereal grain base; fairly acidic and tart; fairly strong hop bitterness develops near the finish, phenolic. Medium-heavy body; dry and acidic with a prickly bite to the mouthfeel.
A nicely balanced, citrus-forward flavored hazy IPA.

A: Pours a murky pale yellow in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate pale golden yellow + bright yellow + apricot + pale orange colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy white head that reduces to a handful of small patches of thin film surrounded by a large patch of very slightly mottled very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of juicy citrus/tangerine + tropical/mango + stone fruit/peach hops as well as light aromas of tropical/coconut hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of biscuit + pale + wheat + oat malts with a light to moderate amount of sugary sweetness.
T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit + pale + wheat + oat malts with a light to moderate amount of sugary sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy citrus/tangerine + tropical/mango + stone fruit/peach hops as well as light flavors of tropical/coconut hops which impart a hint of bitterness which fades away quickly leaving moderate lingering citrus/tangerine hop flavors.
M: Slightly heavier than light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of soft/fluffiness mid-body with a light amount of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly soft/fluffy mouthfeel. Enjoyable hop profile that brought out the interesting aspects of the Sabro hops without getting any of the sunscreen coconut aspects (there is a hint of coconut but more subtle) and lots of tropical + tangerine.
