Collaboration with 3 Sons Brewing.
West Coast Double IPA hopped with Centennial, Simcoe Cryo, Strata and Vic Secret. Collaboration with our friends at 3 Sons Brewing in Dania Beach, Florida. We wanted to pay homage to the era of where IBU limits were pushed and dank IPAs ruled.... As you sip, your tastebuds will be greeted by notes of Meyer lemon and grapefruit, followed by piney dankness, then finishing with layers of mango, pineapple, and a hint of passion fruit.

Light, soft gold colored body; excellent carbonation action; dense, creamy, white head. Mild floral notes on the nose with a touch of pine resin; light breadiness scent. Excellently balanced presence of light cereal grain and toasted malts with a moderate hop bitterness; light alcohol presence. Medium body; crisp and ticklish on the palate with a nice dry edge.
This is a damn fine west coast style double IPA. Well-balanced and deliciously complex and satisfying.

This beer pours a mostly clear gold with a modest head. The aroma is a pleasant mix of orange and grapefruit peel, pineapple, pine, and resin. The flavor follows in suit, with a slightly sweet finish. The mouthfeel is fairly full with buoyant carbonation. Overal a solid if not spectacular beer - could use a bit more bitterness.

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of dank pine are present in the nose with notes of grapefruit and hints of pineapple.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that there are additional notes of lemon citrus. The hops contribute a moderate to high amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is definitely "old school" the dankness and bitterness but also has some "new school" qualities with the aromas and flavors of pineapple.
Serving type: can

A: Pours a relatively clear medium yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate pale golden yellow + bright yellow + apricot colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall foamy bright white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of tropical/passionfruit + tropical/mango + citrus/grapefruit pith + citrus/lemon + pine hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of toasted + bready + caramel malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness.
T: Upfront there are just shy of moderate flavors of toasted + bready + caramel malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of tropical/passionfruit + tropical/mango + citrus/grapefruit pith + citrus/lemon + pine hops which impart a moderate amount of aggressive bitterness which lingers for quite a while.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp upfront with a light to moderate amount of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a crisp + refreshing mouthfeel and aggressive bitterness. Definitely a throwback (pays homage to) West Coast DIPA though with a slightly modified hop profile from back in the day. Really enjoyable.
