Appearance: Pours inky black with a tan film that quickly fades to a collar; leggy with a few spots that dribble
Smell: Rich dark chocolate, butterscotch, hazelnut and a hint of pretzel; the Bourbon barrels add complexity
Taste: RIch dark chocolate and hazelnut forward with the Bourbon barrel flavors building, adding vanilla and a boozy element; after the swallow, the butterscotch powers the finish with just a touch of salty pretzel in the aftertaste
Mouthfeel: Full bodied and creamy with low carbonation; some warmth in the gullet
Overall: After enjoying the base beer and being unimpressed by the coffee/coconut adjuncts, Resident Culture has won me back with this crazy combination; it is sweeter than the base beer but maybe the pretzel holds things together
