Round 2 of our collab with @luabrewing (Des Moines, IA)! Dua's dance moves in a can. Unstoppable. Rhythmic. Wholly of their own. This time we decided to throw in a bunch of hot, new hops, including Nectaron, Superdelic, and Luminosa alongside tried and true Nelson Sauvin. Super tropical and highly resinous, one thing is for sure - this is the caviar bump of hazy biggies.

Appearance: Pours a hazy goldenstraw with a two finger head; good retention and lacing
Smell: Bursts with tropical aromatics; dank, with prominent pineapple and tangerine
Taste: Pineapple and tangerine emerge forcefully, with a very pithy aspect developing; dank, bitter finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Excellent NE IPA; both juicy and bitter

It was only a matter of time before someone used this pun, right? Puns aside, I’ve heard many good things about both Resident Culture and Lua, and it’s my first beer “from” Lua. This has some hops in it that I’ve never heard of and some that have been recent favorites of mine, so I’m excited to dive into this one
Pours a hazy milky yellow with 3 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing
It’s less tropical than I was expecting in the nose, not exactly bitter but not sweet. I’m picking up on aromas of lime zest, crackery malt, earthy hops, white pepper, white grape, light caramel, dank weed, and pithy grapefruit
That sharpness remains in taste, but isn’t quite as balanced as the nose was. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting pithy grapefruit, bready malt, earthy hops, orange juice, lime zest, papaya, white pepper, and light weed. The swallow brings notes of lime zest, crackery malt, earthy hops, white pepper, white grape, lemongrass, papaya, and light caramel
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a creamy and slick beer. Finishes a tad sticky but it doesn’t hurt the drinkability
This is probably a bit past its prime, but still pretty good for what it is
