Our take on the classic Belgium style, a collaboration made richer by aging for 6 months in barrels: one rye, one bourbon. Aromas of dried fruits blend seamlessly with the whiskey character bolstered by hints of vanilla notes. Bottle refermentation provides the long lasting effervescence and distinct mouthfeel. The aroma carries in the glass with lingering notes of warm whiskey. Whether fireside, with family and friends, or with a page-turner…sip, and then savor. A toast to Jubilation

Tasted from a 500 ml bottle bought in Albuquerque.
L - Medium brown color and lightly hazy. Strong, creamy off-white head and lots of lacing.
S - Nice barrel aromas of coconut, oak and whiskey. The base beer aromas are indistinct underneath the barrel aromas.
T - Flavors of the Dubbel are submerged under strong oak and whiskey flavors, although a general maltiness is still there. There is also a boozy note of strong alcohol.
F - Medium to heavy body, slightly silky. Low carbonation. Low hops bitterness, as expected for the style. Some alcohol heat.
O - This is a beer that emphasizes the barrel aspects over the base style. That's not good or bad, just a fact. I would have preferred more Dubbel style to show through, although I did enjoy the barrel characteristics.

In my goblet the beer is a pretty clear cherry amber color. There is a nice, long-lasting light tan head.
I get sweet malt, alcohol, and vanilla in the aroma. A hint of fruit.
The taste is caramel, vanilla, bourbon, and a smidge of raisin.
Medium-bodied, drinks well.

Chill hazed brown colored ale with a small tan colored head.
Smells boozy and distinctly of vanilla. Strong vanilla and oak, that is about 80% of the smell. Brown sugar and fruit, the strongly reminds me of fruitcake. Sweet and boozy sums up the smell.
Starts out sweet and savory with a vanilla and banana flavor. Caramel comes in after a few sips and the sweetness abates a lot. Distinct taste of cork in this. Taste of apples. Honestly only whiskey I get from this is the vanilla and caramel.
Mouthfeel is OK.
Overall...not all beers should be aged in whiskey barrels.
