honey blonde, everyone in these parts seems to be doing a honey beer, and this one is solid, enough sweetness to carry the honey flavor, not so sweet that drinkability is limited by it, its not fermented all the way out, but enough room is left for the pale malt, which is fresh and basic in this. its rightly golden colored with decent clarity but just a short layer of bubbles on top, a little less carbonation than i think something like this should generally be, but its not way off. the nose is a little sweeter than the flavor, some english muffin type character to the malt, a generic floral aspect to the honey but its not like, specifically orange blossom or lavender honey to me, the profile isnt that clear and vibrant, its just honey. the simplicity works in its favor though, and this is lighter medium bodied so its plenty easy drinking and approachable, a gateway type craft beer that doesnt really go above and beyond in any way, but it checks most of the boxes. more carbonation would be helpful, the ferment is a little less than perfectly tidy, but its not sloppy or anything either. not one of the more impressive beers we had in here at their new reno location, but serviceable for sure.
