rather basic pale ale, solid back end bitterness, blonde and lighter bodied without the anticipated older school classic maltiness, its not as toasted and caramel forward as many in its class, and i think that makes it present a little more modern. still more kettle hops than dry hopping apparent, but i dont mind a little meat on the bone there, good early onset hop intensity with earthy and grassy aspects, and more delicate lemon and lemon candy as it warms, fine mix of hops, all relatively fresh, but overall not one of the more exciting or compelling beers we had when we visited the reno location. its medium bodied, a little light on the carbonation for me, but with good freshness through the swallow, the citra hops most evident at the end but still riding that higher alpha bitterness too. the malt flavor is pretty minimal and the ferment is clean, this is dry and the yeast isnt a factor in the flavor. i like the layering of the hops, and overall thought they did a fine job with the hoppy styles across the board. good daytime session pint here, but nothing special.
