Reviewed 2 days after can release. Poured into a District 96 snulip glass. It pours a turbid, dirty straw-lemon color with a creamy, milk-white cap and thin film of lacing. The smell features fresh, tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, pine, and floral hops. The nose is subdued but pleasant. The taste opens with a burst of tart, bitter lemon, grapefruit, and passion fruit over a base of crackery malt. As it warms there is increasing flavors of peach, pineapple, and vanilla cream which provide balancing sweetness. The Galaxy hops furnish a crisp, clean bitterness. Like other D96 IPAs it has a thick, creamy mouth feel with a pleasant level of carbonation but it's especially drinkable at 6.3% ABV. This is D 96's original "Sexual" IPA and it's very good but it suffers a bit by comparison with Sexual Frustration and Sexual Fluctuation. Nonetheless, I'd drink this any time.

Good stuff. Tastes like ganja, with a nice balance of bitterness and sharp stone fruit. Quite dry tasting and bitter, though simultaneously well balanced.

Poured from a 32 oz crowler from Decicco's in Armonk, into a tulip glass.
Beautiful hazy yellow straw color. Nose: pleasant upfront citrus with pineapple and stone fruit on the back. Taste: pineapple and mango up front, with a lingering astringent minty flavor on the back end, which I enjoyed, but may turn others off. Feel: nice soft carbonation. Somewhat thin, I was hoping for a bit more "fluffiness", but that is being very nit-picky. Overall, this is a solid offering from District 96, and I look forward to trying more.

Smell: big melon and papya pineapple mango orange bubblegum herbaceous piney.

Taste: right upfront you get that melon and papya it transitions to juicy citrus fruit orange tangerine some mango a hint of bubblegum It also has nice bready malty backbone the beer finishes with some herbaceousness and a moderate piney biterness.

Feel: medium body really soft and smooth the beer finishes pretty dry.

Overall: A great first beer to have
From these guys. It has all the things you look for in a great NE IPA.

Sexual Relations - District 96
This is everything you’re looking for in a New England style IPA – nice burst of juice upfront, balanced against galaxy hops, with a bit of creaminess in the finish. It has a full body feel – at 6.3% it’s mouth feel drinks more like 7.5 – 8%. The nice ring of resin at the bottom of your glass is proof of the nice body you’ve just enjoyed. Beautiful pale straw glow. Nice long lasting lace clinging to the edge of the glass for dear life.
One of District 96’s strengths is the turbidity of their product, an art made popular by our friends at The Alchemist.
As with many D96 beers, it’s the dry hopping that pushes it over the top. Sweet malt up front, but not too sweet. Great citrus nose with orange notes. Perfect level of carbonation – not fizzy, not over carbonated, just enough to give it life. At 6.3% this beer is in my sweet spot – I could drink it all day (and plan to). If I was comparing this to NYC regional beers, this one would score 5/5. But these guys want to play on the national stage, and so my rating is in accordance to their peers – Tree House, Trillium, and Foam (Burlington). I would put this beer up against any of theirs. A nicely balanced beer – enough dry hop in the finish and some resin to make it lip smacking good. I look forward to hearing more from these guys.
