Brewers notes : We DDH This With Pacific Sunrise, Nelson And Motueka. Looks Like Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice, But Your First Sip Hits You With Fruit Punch Notes , That Slowly Wrap Around Your Tongue And Slither Towards The Back Of Your Mouth When Flavors Of Concord Grape Take Over. The Tail End Of This Beer Is Soft And Gentle With A Perfect SNAKE FRUIT Finish.

16oz can served in a Kane tulip. Received from @MacMalt in BIF #14. No date on it, but once again I can rely on MacMalt for info: His 2021-10-03 review mentions it was one day after can release, which implies that it is now 25 days after can release.

Pours a very pale orange-yellow with a small to medium sized head composed of very fine foam, which condenses into a surprisingly even film of bubbles across the surface of the beer as well as the sides of the glass. Totally hazy. Smell is surprisingly muted -- I mostly get citrus pith. Maybe there's a bit of nectarine in there, which is not a flavor I usually would pick out.

Taste is also pretty muted -- more of the citrus pith, leaning toward lemon primarily, with a bit of a creaminess reminiscent of an orange julius. More sips yield more of a resinous bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is light, smooth, and has a pleasant chalkiness that I sometimes get from DDH beers. Overall, this is a nice beer.

Reviewed one day after can release. Poured into a snulip glass. It pours a turbid, pastel yellow-tan with a full finger of creamy, milky-white head and thick, clinging lacing. A very pretty pour. The nose is fruity and tropical with lemon, lime, tangerine, melon, and a whiff of white wine grape. The taste opens like vintage D96: highly fruity with both tart lemon and grapefruit and sweeter tropical notes. The Motueka (one of my favorite hops) is used well. There is also a subtle hint of berry which I assume comes from the Pacific Sunrise hops. But at mid-sip the Nelson hops take center stage with dry white wine grape. There is also a slightly spicy earthiness that balances the tropical sweetness. At the finish is D96's signature snake fruit taste: which I can best describe as bitter pineapple. It finishes quite clean with minimal hop bitterness and no yeast burn. This ale is moderately thick and creamy with pleasant carbonation, and it's easily drinkable at 6.8% ABV. Overall, Enjoy the Snake is a very solid Northeast IPA. It's not as tropical as many of D96's IPAs but it's not intended to be. Anyone who enjoys Nelson Sauvin hops will really like this ale.

poured into a snulip style glass

L: 4.25. Opaque yellow-orange. Medium head.
S: 4.5 Super hoppy. Dank. Earthy. Tropical fruits.
T: 4.75 superb. Super bitter. Kiwi. Orange. Oceanic hops. Malty, grainy bite on the back end.
F: 3.75 Not a crusher. Thick mouthfeel. A palette wrecker.
O: 4.25. Definitely will revisit. One of the best NE IPAs i've tasted, and it has good competition in the area.
