1st review of this beer on BA. Had this in late August at the Bruery, the day after the Rolling Stones show at the Rose Bowl.
This didn't look appealing. Had that chicken gravy texture appearance wise 1/3" white head. The commercial tug job on these is that they have an experimental yeast meant to mimic hop flavors. Given the bursting citrus aromatics on this, I have to say the story checks out. So many weed and orange juice terpenes coming out of this.
Taste is a nice one two combo punch upping the "juiciness" of this beer to elevated levels. Tastes like the familiar Citra and Mosaic combo, but who knows where the hop flavors stop and the yeast flavors begin. Amazing s-a-w-f-t pillow like body on this. No need to be concerned about hop burn or acidity, they got that all smooved out in here. Carbonation isn't lowered, making it even better that it doesn't have the lower hazy ipa carb, they stuck with normal ipa carb.
Offshoot makes some very good beers, and this is one of, if not the best thing I've had from them. Would definitely buy cans of this if available when I'm in town (or if they ever start shipping beyond Reno/Vegas in Nevada).
