Double Hazy IPA
Date: 07/30/2021
This beer has hit the 6-month marker for IPA's I did consume this one fresh. I am curious to see how it holds up. The temperature is 46 degrees; I used a tulip glass. The pour created a frothy and creamy two-fingered head with excellent retention. Some lacing was left on the glass after the slow dissipation. The color charts around SRM 6, golden yellow with straw color hues. The beer is hazy, with bits of yeast floating within. An elegant showing for the appearance.
Initial aromas in the beer are floral, citrus, a hint of pine, tropical, pineapple, and mango. The malt profile is bready, biscuity, and toasty crackers. Other aromas I detect are a slight hint of pharmaceutical.
From what I remember, the hops have slightly decreased in intensity. The core flavors are oranges, mangos, pineapple, crackers, bready, floral, pine needles, grapefruit, toasty notes, and a hint of grass. Other flavors are a skosh of pharmaceutical, a touch of dankness, and a slight hint of earthiness.
The mouthfeel is astringent and dry. The body is a heavy, moderate amount of carbonation, and has a lasting finish.
The last time I consumed this beer, the hops were a touch brighter. Other than that, this is still a solid beer with complex flavors. I enjoyed this beer.
