Shaken Milkshake IPA

Milkshake IPA
Date: 09/03/2021
The beer is eclipsing the date where it is no longer fresh or tasty. I am rolling the dice here. The beer has been kept in ideal conditions, thus making me believe it is still good. The temperature is 40 degrees, and I used a specialty IPA glass. An airy and frothy off-white three-fingered head was created from the pour. Excellent retention, dissipating slowly, leaving loads of lacing on the glass. The color charts around SRM 6, golden yellow with straw color hues. Some haziness and yeast persist throughout the beer. The appearance of the beer is above average.
The initial aromas lightly toasted malts, peaches, cream, oranges, tropical fruit, and sugar. Nosing further, I detect a touch of floral and a hint of herbal.
The bright hops and mellow malts still gave this beer life, detecting little age. The flavors of the hops are oranges, stone fruit, herbal, and some floral. The malts are lightly toasted, crackers, and light biscuits. The adjuncts in the beer hide well behind the hops. I struggle tasting the peaches; however, I taste sugar and cream.
The mouthfeel is creamy but slightly tannic. The body is medium, carbonation is medium, and the finish lingers somewhat.
I have consumed a few milkshake IPA; I just do not care for them. Milkshakes with some type of floral or herbal notes are not for me. The beer is okay for this style.
