Picked this up in late February 2022. Surprised to be writing the first review for this beer over 6 months later.
Pours a moderate yellow haze amount. Its not all Orange Julius levels of thiccccc if that is what you're looking for. 2/3" white head. The aroma had like equal parts bittering and aroma hops. Citra was familiar with its, gasp, citrus notes, the El Dorado gave this herbal bitterness methinks. Strata brought a little strawberry cough.
Taste was good enough, it had a little hit of alcohol boozy heat, but 8.6% ain't no joke and you eventually get adjusted to it. For all the commercial tug job about juicy tropical fruit, I thought it had just as much bitterness as an older school ipa. Maybe it was a little older or warm, but it eventually calibrated itself in my mouth and resulted in a good beer that isn't something you have to seek out, there are beers like this everywhere. I guess where it kind of stands out, is that it has like what tastes like 80 ibu in a hazy ipa.
