We know what you’re thinking: dolphin what? When we sat down with our friends at Stone Brewing to plan this collab beer, we felt it only fitting to get inspired by their use of what3words—an innovative approach to location tracking which assigns each 3m x 3m square of the world into a three word address—to name this beer. So now you know: the best way to describe The Bruery and Offshoot’s brewhouse is ///Dolphin.Escape.Bikes!

this is a killer ipa, modern and bright, really distinctive on the hop side, done with stone, who has named beer like this before. the menu said kiwi, but i thought it might be just a hop note, a tasting suggestion, but it turns out this is actually fruited, kiwi and watermelon additions apparently, which work super well with the selected hops, and while freshness might be slightly questionable in my pour, the beer is undeniable anyway, and the kiwi element is defining for me, well integrated as it is. pale orange, rather hazy but not sloppy looking, nearly an inch of slow fading white head from the tap and plenty of bubbles. the nose is fruity and interesting, cashmere, sultana, nelson, and el dorado are the hops at work, and i get tangerine and melon fruitiness first, then the obvious kiwi, which i cant believe how well it comes through, juicy and slightly tart even, less watermelon to me but some lushness there, mandarin oranges, white coconut, even green banana or plantain, tropical and summery, really cool, and with a bit of bitterness keeping it in the ipa realm pretty thoroughly, modern as this otherwise is. the flavor is similar, but citrus and tropical notes with real identifiable kiwi right in the middle, sweet for only a second, notes of lime weed gummies and lemongrass, warming to green pear, white wine, and pineapple freshly sliced, love the kiwi in this but the hops are perfectly selected and dosed too. some body but not a lot of grain flavor, lightly starchy, longer but soft, off dry. the carbonation is good, there is some back end bitterness, and its bold and saturated without being green on the palate. it could be fresher, but i was really impressed with this one, lovely complexion of hops and fruit, new school but not cloying, downright awesome. cant wait to drink more of this...

On-tap at the Bruery; hazy juice-like darker gold, minimal head. Tropical, juicy, fruity, spritzy, kiwi, watermelon, white wine, some tartness, dry-ish finish.
