I served Mario Kart in a Pilsner glass at 40 degrees. The pour created an airy, white, two-fingered head with excellent retention. The beer is straw yellow with light golden hues and is clear, measuring around three on the color chart. The slow dissipation left lots of lacing on the glass. The beer's appearance is above average for its style.
When I sniff the glass, I initially smell toasted malts, jasmine flowers, light herbal notes, and a touch of tropical fruit. Other aromas are yeasty, light phenols, and a touch of pepper.
The hoppiness is met with the lightly toasted malts, melding into lovely harmony. The hops have jasmine flowers, herbal notes, tropical notes, and a touch of pine. Other flavors are pepper, yeast, and a touch of earthiness.
The mouthfeel is astringent and clean, and the finish is crisp. The body is light and has a medium carbonation.
I got a growler of this from The Bruery. Offshoot made a pilot release. It's a fabulous hoppy pilsner with crisp and clean flavors. I hope to get this beer in the summer. This beer would be great on a warm summer night in Idaho by the lake drowning worms.
