the mango edition is good, its not too much, but gives a bit of a tropical pick me up to a beer that already leans a little summery and fruity, and its fresh to me, which wasnt always the case with the hoppy stuff at the idaho location when it opened, but they seem to have gotten that sorted right out. no color from the mango, this is as pale and whitewashed looking as the original, pretty hazy and dense, a short but lasting airy white head on it, lively to drink with bigger sized bubbles. the aroma is a little green, which has been a thing with a few of these, grassy, citra hops apparent giving some real complimentary citrus to the mango in this, juicy without being cloying, trace pineapple and coconut but not quite umbrella drink status, this still has some ipa level intensity to me, maybe an unmalted wheat or something in the grain base, a little raw there, doughy, sturdy without really limiting how much i want to have because its tight and quick. the flavor is dry and speedy too, some light hop burn through it, but lovely ripe mango playing well with these hops, some back end spiciness, herbal bite, i dont mind a hazy with a little bitter snap and this has it. the hops and mango really pair well here, nicely selected mix, or well selected fruit for this rather, as i think the no fruit edition predated this by some time. starchy earthy grain backing but its well out of the way in the taste, and this warms to clementine, lemongrass, and more honest mango, which is subtle but delicious. i think id give this one a slight edge over the original, and i liked that one too, the mango is really well dosed and this is great for the lingering hot summer weather.
edit: a little less mango apparent the second time around, still the sweetness, but its not as obvious to me, and i like it less without that part popping it off, perhaps not catching it as fresh this time, but im left wishing for a little more of the mango element, hops way ahead of fruit here, still pleasant and summery.

On-tap at the brewery taphouse, straight-up golden-orange on the appearance, no head and murky haze. Hoppy, citrusy, and tropical in the hop-profile (as expected) with a nice light body and minimal bitterness. Fruity notes come through throughout, definitely strong impressions of mango and even guava. Decent stuff; I generally approve of fruited IPA's if executed well.
