this is fantastic, a step better than the original i reckon, not always a fan of the stronger hazy ones, but this isnt much more alcoholic than the typical hazy has become these days, and it supports a massive hop load that really hits as unique, i was impressed with this overall, and its way lighter than expected to drink, sneaky strong, an easy one to get into trouble with on their patio at the idaho location, but arent they all from these guys?! id love to know what the hops in here are, but the nose and taste come with big sliced citrus, tangerine and meyer lemon to me, with a light sweetness from the grain supporting that but without being heavy or starchy or objectively malty in the traditional sense, rather pale blonde color, pretty lightly hazy too, and very fizzy and heady so somewhat more approachable looking than generally anticipated for me in this style. i also get further tropical fruit in here from ripe mango to canned fruit cocktail up front, to pineapple and green snacking grape later on, very light bitterness at the end, beautifully fresh, just enough from the grain really, and more than most of these, each sip kind of concludes completely so each pull is new all over again, less linger than most, and on the dry side too, i think that helps keep it light and really striking each time i take some in, somewhat weedy and terpene prominent as it warms, but its never too much, and i think this fits the emergent nice weather really well. high carbonation is appreciated in this style for me, really solid, modern, and repeatable, no sign of its strength at all and a distinctive hop pop all though it, among the best of the hoppy beers ive had from this side of the business so far...
