355 mL can from the LCBO; dated May 20 2022 and served barely chilled.

Pours a hazy golden-orange colour with flecks of sediment scattered throughout its body; situated atop is less than a finger of smooth, white foam that dissipates within a couple of minutes. A thin collar survives, but with little else worth mentioning - no cap, no lace. Straight up tangerine on the nose - peel, juice, pulp, all of that goodness. The vanilla is barely noticeable, though it does have an 'orange creamsicle' sweetness about it. Not exactly complex or nuanced, but man does that tangerine pop.

That notion carries over into the flavour profile, too, i.e. this is an orange creamsicle beer first, and a DIPA second. Tangerine, vanilla, milk sugar and oatmeal are the flavours I'm getting, in order of lessening intensity. There are also suggestions of grapefruit pith and stone fruit, with orange creamsicle flavours lingering into the aftertaste. Full bodied, with moderately lively carbonation that adds some bite to this brew's otherwise soft, smooth, juicy mouthfeel. Very quaffable for the style.

Final Grade: 3.88, a worthy B+. Reverie Double Tangerine is a very good orange creamsicle beer, but at the same time, it's not really what I want out of a DIPA. Perhaps most importantly, this beer does exactly what it sets out to do, meeting whatever expectations I might've had from a beer with "double tangerine" in its name. So it's not as if I'm disappointed, it's just that I'm not particularly enamoured with this creamsicle fad in the first place. If you love this sort of thing, this could very well be a must-try.
