At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 355mL in a pint glass. From Erie St. GastroPub's bottle shop in nearby downtown Windsor. Canned February 20/25. My 12th beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and 2nd for 2026. Adamantly adored by Gracie the cat...

355 mL can, day 10 of the 2022 Toronto Brewing beer advent calendar; dated Oct 18 2022 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a foggy, translucent pale golden colour, crowned with nearly two fingers of puffy, resilient white head that lasts for more than five minutes. A thin cap and creamy collar remain in place, with a quarter-inch ring of lace left clinging to the glass - looks fabulous so far. Clean aroma of straw, rice and grainy pale malts, with just a hint of lemon zest.

Light malt flavours of freshly baked bread, white rice and grain sweetness. Grassy hops provide a proper counterpoint on the back end, with lightly floral bitterness followed by a super dry aftertaste. Light-medium in body, with lively carbonation that adds a frothy bite to this lager's extremely smooth and soft mouthfeel. Pretty darn close to flawless.

Final Grade: 4.0, an impressive A-. Like the vast majority of rice lagers, Rorschach's Super Dry is not what you'd call an 'exciting' beer, but it's still one of the best craft lagers I've had in the past year or so. Immaculately clean, extra-dry as advertised, and supremely easy to knock back - 355 mL is literally a tease! Quite possibly the finest take on this style that I've yet had the good fortune to sample: I would totally buy this again if it were sold as a single at the LCBO.
