Pours an almost clear, pink'ish amber coloration with a small, fizzy head that soon fades to a small ring around the glass. Smell is sominated by hibiscus and lighter, fruity esters of red berries and green apple, as well as just a hint of ginger. Taste is a great balance of subtle but distinct hibiscus some more ginger coming through on the tongue than in the nose and quite light estery fruit notes of red berries and tart green apple, with some light, biscuity, slightly grainy malt as well. Finishes quite dry, with a light/medium bitterness and some hibiscus and ginger lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and medium/strong carbonation.
Quite a nice saison that brings a great balance of subtle but distinct hibiscus and ginger notes to the table, with an equally subtle tartness and light bitterness, as well as quite a dry character. Perhaps not too complex, but the subtleness really is key to this wonderfully balanced beer, with the notes being quite noticeable, but soft at the same time, never becoming too overbearing or clashing.
