What’s in a hop? Sure, Lupulin glands, Bracteoles, Strigs, alpha and beta acid, polyphenols, but what does it all mean? Aroma. Flavor. Awesomeness. Just this side of an IPA and teetering on the edge of Pale Ale, Hop Anatomy combines Citra and other hops with a nice dose of specialty malt for a complete and well-rounded flavor profile.

It says it's apple ale but def tastes like an IPA. It reminds me of other sessionable IPAs out there. Its lighter than your standard stuff but still had that hop flavor. I'm down with this. Good stuff.

Lots of floral and tropical fruit float up from a rich amber pour and a frothy and rapidly fading head. Taste starts off with a hoppy profile but seems to lose its way to the finish. The malt is weak and quite muted. Not a bad ale, to be sure, but a little below expectations.

16 oz. can from Lifesource natural grocers in Salem OR.
$3.79
Pours a clear golden coloured body with a nice sized splotchy off white head.
Pretty pleasant hoppy aroma. Mainly mellow citrus and floral hops.
Taste bitter orange and lemon. Soft bitterness, coats the tongue..then some sweetness .
Mouth feel is soft. Almost like a bottle conditioned beer. I liked it.
Nice and very drinkable.

If there is one thing I appreciate about Revision, its their ability to make nice hoppy beers that are sessionable/under 6% abv. There's been a few, here's one now:
Pours a clear golden color indicative of professional brewing. 1/2" white head with good retention especially for something so hoppy. The aroma pops, great hoppy aroma, Citra prominent, tangerine, orange, grapefruit and collared greens and marijuana coming out of this one, might be some CTZ there alongside Citra?
Taste is nice, light golden waves of grain on the backside giving a great backdrop for the crisp carbonation and body alongside all those citrus groves of hop flavor. This is very well done. No hop, alcohol or bitterness burn, nice light popsicle stick balsa light as wood malt body.
I'm really going to make a major effort to drink more beers like this over the summer and softball season months. Sure, you can't Chicago pour these amongst 'friends' but you can crush them while they drink their own beer.

16 oz can from Brewers Haven. Not a hazy! Clear golden with a spotty head. Aroma is light dank, musty, bubblegum. Taste features a solid malt base with a thin layer of light earthy, grassy, woody hop profile. Not your typical Revision beer, but a solid pale ale.

Pours from the can a classic west coast ipa, gloriously clear and golden. There’s a light aroma on this, dialed back, with the citra burst up front followed by some pleasing pithy grass and a hint of biscuit toasty ness on the back end. It’s enjoyable, if not mind blowing, and a reminder not to sleep on the pale ale!

16oz canned 4/22 poured into a nonic.
A: Pure clear gold, effervescent, with white soapy head.
S: Clean and piney, freshly cut orange slice, bready malt. Maybe hints of grapefruit as well but it’s pretty straightforward with the other aromas.
T: Clean Pale Ale bite but the felt bitterness is actually pretty low I think; impressions of pale malt in a flash of sweetness underlying an earthy and piney and lightly citrusy hop profile.
MF: Clean and light body, good carbonation. Refreshing.
O: With the clear body I was hoping for a more West Coast bitterness profile, but for a regular Pale Ale this drinks just fine and gets the job done.

one of the more classically styled revision beers i have had to date, even among the clear ones they do. this is a pale ale, but a robust one, on the edge of ipa with a lot of hops all the way through it and some bitterness at the end, sturdy for its modest abv, and fresh as can be, canned just two days before i picked up the four pack. its perfectly clear, a light malt tint to it, an inch of white head, soapy lace in the wake of each sip, and immediately obvious freshness bursting forth in the aroma. it smells pretty northwestern to me on the hop side, some simcoe type grapefruit character, maybe a softer citra type citrus too, but im not sure which hops are in here, its not way out there or overly unique, especially for these guys, just well crafted in a way that stands out. the flavor is bright with some pine and some sweet orange character, a little floral honey as well with the malt sweetness thats there in the center, dry and clean and without any sort of fermentation character later on. impressive carbonation and attention to detail overall, boldly hoppy for a pale, but very drinkable and well refined too. i think this is somewhat less distinctive than a lot of their beers, but its good objectively as any of them. i continue to look forward to my weekly dose of revision beer, definitely becoming one of my favorites!

Can poured into a Russian River Brewing Co pub glass
A: Pours golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.
S: Tropical and stone fruit, melon, slightly earthy herbal notes, a bit grassy, citrus, biscuity malt, and a little caramel sweetness
T: Grassy, herbal, and floral, nice fruity side, peach, apricot, mango, plum, and a touch of melon, light citrus, orange, lemon, and lime, lightly toasty biscuity malt, and a little caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: Nicely balanced, shows off the green "hoppy" side and the fruity side. Reminds me a little bit of an English style pale ale.
