A solid hazy IPA; lime, mango, pineapple. Hints of mint and floral hop throughout. A lot of lingering bitterness. Reminded me of Parish’s Attacus Atlas.

Cloudy, amber color--similar to peach juice. The moderate head fades to a thin layer of fine bubbles, but it creates extensive streaky lacing on the glass throughout the tasting.
Grassy and weedy nose from the high-hop content. Light tutti-frutti in the background.
Oily alcohol overtones and feel. The hop bitterness is present throughout the tasting including the initial sip. This means the malt up front is barely perceptible and quickly lost in the swallow. Not quite extreme but still very strong. Long aftertaste, naturally.

A-solid light copper haze with minimal head, probably due to the higher ABV
S-Really inviting citrusy sweet
T-passionfruit, grapefruit, lemongrass, above average sweet, average to above average bitter
M-Full (-), below average carbonation, smooth oily feel
O-If you like your hazy's to have a kick (this is a double at 8.5%) hop-forward and leave the malts in the background, this is the one.

its been very rare in my experience to have a beer from revision that isnt just awesome, so this surprised me a little. its a little messy to me, fresh and all, but its over hopped by any measure, has a ton of greenness and a harsh bite at the end, vegetal and overly intense, even kind of permeates the tongue and lingers longer than it is welcome. on top of that, its really hazy, still nicely carbonated, but its heavy to drink, even with some exposed alcohol, which seems out of place here. definitely a big northwest hop complexion to me, even though its australian varietals they try to feature here, pine notes leading the way, very woodsy and that seems appropriate for winter, but to me this is just not as well refined and dialed in as i have gotten used to from revision, straight up. i taste it forever, its very bitter, and has an oily pungency to it that is front and center the entire time. a lousy showcase of galaxy and vic secret to me, tastes like pellets. slightly yeasty to me as well. overall this one just felt abrasive for the sake of it, and i get that they cant all be winners, but this stands as one of the least impressive beers i have had from these guys. i am such a fan of all they do, but this one didnt hit the mark for me, overdone on the hops, weighty and raw, just a bruiser. im making it sound worse than it is, this is still leagues better than a lot of its peers out there, dont get me wrong, but i have higher standards for these guys now and this is a weaker offering for them...

Fairly fresh 16oz can, but no canning date visible on the bottom of this particular can.
A: Fairly turbid hazy gold with a fluffy off-white head and some decent creamy lace.
S: Tropical upfront with notes of pineapple, mango, and coconut, as well as some citrus, orange and lime.
T: More tropical and citrusy notes of mango and orange, pineapple and passion fruit, with a doughy malt backbone. Solid bitterness initially, though it warms and the malt takes over with a mild sweetness.
MF: Medium, fairly fluffy, mild dryness, consistent bitterness.
O: Fairly decent NEIPA but not entirely unique, special, or out-of-the-ordinary.

Draft at Consume on February 10, 2020. One pint can on February 18, 2020. To become your best self you may need to vanquish your old self. You look at your reflection in the mirror, smash the mirror and walk forward. A hefty yet light on its feet double hazy IPA, Battle of the Lords will slay ya with flavah and crush yer aromatic senses with a definitive hop punch. Galaxy and Vic Secret provide a one-two combo with notes of passionfruit, pineapple, orange and lime. I preferred draft version.
