Collaboration with Device Brewing Company

Enjoying a beer is an encompassing sensory experience; the color, the aroma, the texture and most of all the flavor. Behind the art of craft is the science of brewing. Chemical reactions, organic chemistry, mechanical and electrical engineering combined with a drive to make something extraordinary awesome. The gears starting turning, thoughts take shape, an idea is forged into matter. That is the spirit of craft beer, a spirit shaped by many including Device Brewing and us Revision folks. Cheers to the driving force towards greatness, and especially cheers to you.

Revice pours a hazy, dull orange, almost boarding a brown color with a think and cream head that lingers leaving a thick lacing. The smell is bursting with juicy tropical fruit including mango and pineapple with a big melon presence. The taste seems well balanced with tropicals popping forward but offset by a mild hoppy bitterness.

Solid hazy by Revision, this DIPA has all the full tropical and stonefruits aroma and taste you would be expecting with just an incredible mouthfeel. Smooth, creamy, every sip makes you want to take another.

Canned 5/10/18.
Look: Pours hazy golden yellow, with 2 fingers worth of head. Generous amounts of residual lacing.
Smell: Citrus and melon up front. I pick up some grapefruit, orange, tangerine and lemon. The melon smell reminds me of cantaloupe and watermelon rind. Hop presence is minimal on the nose. Slight fruit sweetness to the smell as well.
Taste: Sweet citrus fruits, with a nice melon taste as well. Slight lemongrass hop presence, but very minimal for a double. I pick up on mostly grapefruit, orange, lemon, and cantaloupe. Maybe a tad mango and papaya.
Feel: Medium in body and weight, with low carbonation. The beer is super soft and pillowy. Ridiculously smooth and easy to drink.
Overall: Another great beer, and one I am grateful to have tried. Perhaps the smoothest and fluffiest DIPA I've had yet. Cheers!

Another Revision beer, another lazy review about how all their beers are substantially similar yet good.

This time its collaboration time, where brewers who make substantially similar beers get together to make yet another substantially similar beer. This one pours hazy and yellow with a 1/3" white head. Aroma is familiar, yet good, Mosaic and Citra, one of the greatest aroma tag teams of all time. I think there is some Vic Secret and Galaxy popping off here, and given the slight pineapple at play, seems to corroborate the information.

Taste is nice, restrained bitterness, flaked oats, not acidic in the stomach. Good mix of Citra and Galaxy giving some busty juiciness to the hop flavors, pineapple, tangerine and guava seem to jump out the most.

Jokes aside, this is the upper echelon of stuff they've made, and that is saying a lot since they're almost always 4 out of 5 or higher. Shit is almost $5 a can though.

Pours a cloudy murky orangish dull gold color with thin white head and minimal lacing. Nose is quite mild with some citrus, juicy fruit and floral hops. Taste follows and again is quite mild with low carbonation and a rather dry finish. Really good.

Canned 05/03/18

Appearance - Pours hazy and dull orange in color with an off-white, near finger width head. Sub-par retention results in a mostly barren surface with a thin ring around the edge of the glass.

Smell - Tropical, juicy aroma. Orange, mango, pineapple and a solid melon character riding beneath those sharper qualities.

Taste - Pretty even keeled flavor with juicy citrus and sharp tropical notes upfront while a solid melon base holds firm throughout. The aftertaste lingers with melon and mild pineapple zing.

Mouthfeel - Medium in body with low carbonation. Firm, creamy texture that goes down smooth with a drying finish.

Overall - Great flavor but a little on the flat side, carbonation wise but it goes down smooth. Solid all-around brew.

Can dated 05/03/18 into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

L: Pours slightly hazy brown bronze with 2 fingers of medium density white head with limited retention and left minimal lacing.

S: Nice tropical nose with heavy cantaloupe and mango, and floral undertones.

T: Follows the nose well, not quite as dynamic. Finishes with limited bitterness and minimal astringency, clears the palate quickly.

F: Medium bodied with low-medium carbonation, creamy on the tongue and swallow.

O: Nice collaboration recipe, would've been stellar with a few more dynamic flavor/aroma aspects, but delicious nonetheless.
