This was one of the very few Revision releases I missed, but just happened to come across to my surprise on a recent visit to the brewery. Pours a hazy yellow like the vast majority of their beers. There is a little familiar take on the Citra hop providing most of the weight moving in the nose. You know the deal, citrus, leaning away from formerly typical grapefruit and instead opting for more of a tangerine and guava kind of impact.

Taste is a little different, just a few Revision ipas use lactose, maybe this and Scrog Grog, neither of which falls into the trap of using too much lactose where it is either overly sweet or pairing with overdone flaked oats/wheat leads it into a milkshake territory, which is never top tier stuff no matter who makes it or what they do with it. Mouthfeel does lend itself to that lightly sweet easy to drink especially for 8.5% territory. Its getting to the point where this is on the border of "not bitter enough". I still like the beer, but this one really walks up to the line with its creamsicle approach. If it was any smoother or sweeter, it would really become a drawback.

Golden orange with a finger of white head.
Orange, ripe tropical fruits, mango, pineapple, papaya.
Taste follows with the orange and tropical fruits, a bit of bittering hops on the finish before the sweet somewhat sticky sweetness kicks in
The feel is great in this one, full bodied, silky, super smooth.
Overall a great beer, a bit sweet for me but not overbearing.

Beautiful in the mason jar...creamy , three finger head and a hazy orange.

Nose: orange creamsicle, orange zest but muted. Mangoes and all that Jazz.

Flavor: Papaya and mango and orange and grapefruit and...yeah, loads of dry hopped hops. Sweet malts.

Mouthfeel: amazing. Creamy and medium but dry on the finish.

Awesome hazy! Super flavorful but low bittnerness and no alcohol detected despite the big ABV.

Revision has my respect.

Orange, mango and grapefruit with a tasy lingering banana like stickiness from the lactose, reminds me of sour hi chew candy...straight juicebomb, dangerously crushable at 8.5%. Will buy again, and again.

Canned 11/05/18

Appearance - Hazy pour and straw yellow in color with an off-white, half finger width head. Fair retention results in a mostly barren surface with a thin ring of suds around the outside of the glass. A few small patches and spots make up the lacing.

Smell - Citrus notes, orange and grapefruit, with hints of milky sweetness.

Taste - Punch of citrus upfront but it quickly begins to turn a milky sweetness, progressing to the dominant position before dying down, allowing for a hint of pithy bitterness in the finish. Aftertaste lingers with milk and pith bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Slightly creamy texture at first, but turns dry and chalky in the finish.

Overall - Nope, not digging it. Milk sugar is giving it an odd-fitting sweetness. Had they added fruit, the acidity and tartness would've helped to balance this out, and then they could've marketed it properly as a milkshake, not a NE-style hazy. This is not the latter. I'll let this be my lesson for future purchases against hazy IPAs featuring lactose without fruit, regardless of brewery.

Thanks, Bill!

Was grateful for pulling in this, along with 16 others, from Chad and Bill on a recent work trip to Reno, Nev. Revision arguably does the best haze and I had them at the fifth-best brewery coming into this haul. Online description read, “We think about beer, a lot. Synapses firing, thoughts bubbling, ideas percolating in an ever-evolving quest to make somethin' super tasty. This beer was brewed with Citra, Simcoe, and a bit of milk sugar. We hope you enjoy our latest liquid thought.”

Poured a hazy gold color with two fingers of frothy white head. Lots of slow moving bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. World-class spiderweb foamy lacing. Excellent foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)

Smelled huge whiff of Citra up front with the Simcoe lingering late. Also grapefruit, papaya, pineapple, peach, stone fruit, sugary vanilla, pine, lime and citrus zest. From the can Citra and Simcoe shined, along with grapefruit and papaya. (Smell - 4.25)

Taste was maybe just as good. Got sharp Citra, lingering Simcoe, papaya, peach, pineapple, sugary cereal milk, stone fruit, orange blossom, pine and lime zest. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Sugary, spicy finish. (Feel - 3.75)

Another solid offering from the Revision folks. Just a tad too sweet for me overall, but probably just nitpicking. Outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)

Canned 11/05/18.
L: Pours a rusty orange color. About a fingers width cap formed from a simple pour. Minimal glass lacing.
S: Tons of citrus and pink starburst aromas. Hops are also present on the nose presented in an earthy/grassy fashion. Evident sweetness from the lactose.
T: Lemon and orange are dominant fruit flavors with some mango and pineapple. Slightly bitter hoppy finish. Sweetness most prominent on the finish with lingering orange/lactose flavors.
F: Soft and medium bodied. Carbonation is is just right for how i like these beers. It has the Revision feel that I admire.
O: Was excited to try this beer and I am finding it quite enjoyable. Not sure if I like this better than Citra City, but I think this is a lactose-IPA brewed right in my opinion. I am very glad to have tried. Cheers!
