First review of this beer on BA. Pours a dark ass black with thin brown head 1/5". Aroma was bourbon and dark chocolate with a hint of booziness and oak.
Taste is already kinda reminds me of that other brewery across town's Russian Imperial Stout, Scytale. Has that dark fruit, chocolate and a milder than average amount of roasted malt for this kind of beer thing going for it. A little bit of vanilla, mouth feel is nice and luscious, even though there is a bit of dark fruit, it doesn't take on the bitterness that it often does, the vanilla quotient of the bourbon barrel is nice and natural feeling. There is nothing "sweet" or sugary about this beer. Its smoothness is acquired the old fashioned way I guess. This has a substantial bourbon component, I'm guessing a solid "wet" barrel for around a year here.
Its pretty good stuff, glad to check it out at a festival (Bistro Barrel Aged fest 2018) rather than commit to a big ass pour/bottle elsewhere.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
