messy but good, perhaps a tad overdone, really far down that pastry road, but i still like the way it smells and tastes, clever to put blueberries in this, love how forward they are, sweet and concentrated but natural enough in aroma and flavor, i think they could have stopped there, the fruit is great with the base stout, but this also has coconut, vanilla, graham cracker, cinnamon, and come crap they call natural flavor, which i am getting tired of seeing in this style of late. the cinnamon is thankfully subtle to my sense, the vanilla sweetens it somewhat unnecessarily, and the coconut is cool with the blueberry and the obvious chocolate and coffee character in the dark grain, not a distraction at all but a sort of uncommon combination. its gross to look at, chunky almost like crushed up graham crackers were put right in the can, gloopy and viscous, huge pieces of tan sediment, brownish color, very short tan head. it smells and tastes great, love the blueberries and the sweet chocolate note, light smoke and some later balancing bitterness, toasted coconut richness, some caramel and molasses, authentic vanilla, espresso crema, and its not that alcoholic to me for what it is, but i definitely find it a little too sweet, and now sloppy with the sediment, its almost chunky to drink on! i like the flavor of the graham cracker coming through, interrupting the dark malt in a good way, brown sugar and honey nuance, some tang from the blueberries late, desserty and heavy, but good. neat beer, some refinement would go a long way, but they have something pretty unique here, and enjoyable in small doses. im pumped to go back to the brewery again next month!

"Imperial Pastry Stout brewed with blueberries, graham crackers, coconut, vanilla, cinnamon, and natural flavor." Thick, viscous pour. Intense aromas and flavors of blueberry pie, coconut, graham cracker, and vanilla. Thick body. Sweet but manageable, not quite cloying. Tasty and intense.
