Deep, dark, clear pour; brown and garnet hues; thick, frothy, light tan head, lasting. Primarily an overarching cocoa aroma; sweet; a suggestion of light earthy spiciness. Wonderfully deep and complex flavor; cocoa and burnt toast; whiskey-like booziness; mild grain char; espresso tones. Medium-heavy body; lightly silky and slippery; moderate note of alcohol warmth.
What to say other than this is a fine imperial stout. Straightforward, packs a punch, tastes delicious.

16oz can from Tavour. Black pour with a filmy beige head. Roasty aroma. Taste is simple roasty malts, mild sweetness. A throwback to when imperial stouts were just strong stouts.

monster stout here, sick art, cool name, borderline irresponsible in a pint can. this is sweet, but its not as viscous as expected in the glass, looks kind of normal to me, with a quick fading ring of light brown bubbles on top of a shiny dark but not quite black base beer, leggy a bit, but somewhat deceptive. the aroma is chocolate fudge and hot cocoa, with brown sugar, molasses, and long boiled almost english malt sweetness to it, lots of sugar apparent even in front of the alcohol presence, dont think this spent time in barrels but it has a wood, whiskey, vanilla, and char vibe to it anyway, not as bitter roasty and balanced as the best of these, but that element is there too, this is imposing to my senses. bigtime chocolate notes of all persuasions here, from semisweet chips to milky smooth chocolate sauce to dark organic bitter, its really layered on the grain side but still not the deepest on the roast. honey and vanilla nuance, trace smoke, a subtle meaty kind of beefy aspect too, weird. molasses as it warms, this is very sweet and desserty the whole way, is there lactose in this? it sticks on my palate and teeth, but does get increasingly complex even after the swallow, cocoa powder, black tea, and maybe maple or something. tasty, boozy, sugary, but i would not rank this among the best stouts from revision, that bar is extremely high and this one isnt quite there for me, despite it being fun and distinctive...
