This was another beer that I picked up on Tavour at the tail end of last year, as I never had anything from Wild Barrel before. Of course, I was sold on it's description and this was on par with that as it was quite delightful, fun, and easy to drink as the flavor wasn't quite like any Berliner Weisse that I ever had!
Cool pour to this as it looked like the juices of the fruits in it, with plenty of brightness that had a lively and subtle radiance to it. A perfect head topped this off as it loudly settled down as there wasn't any foam or lacing to be seen once that happened. Lots of peach and prickly pear in the nose, along with a hint of stone fruit, nectar, and lime juice as the taste closely followed suit. Sweet, sticky, and juicy, this was so much fun to drink as the lively carbonation and bright citrus made this feel like fresh-squeezed juice. Watermelon and strawberry juice emerged once this warmed up as the back tasted like jolly rancher candy, minus the overt stickiness that clings to your teeth!
I'm sure the alcohol's in here somewhere but with so much goodness going on, how would I even notice? No date was to be found anywhere but this held amazingly well over the last half year as it felt like it was canned yesterday. This was one of the best takes on the style that I've ever had as I'll be on the lookout for Wild Barrel the next time I'm out west!
