Having this beer on-tap at the brewery. Served in a snifter glass, this beer draws a mainly clear, medium to deep red/purple color with a pink head that’s over an inch thick when first drawn and served. Head settles eventually to a thin to medium sized ring lining the inside of the glass. Not much lacing here. Aromas of some bready malts and a bit of wheat I think followed by the tartness of then currants used here. The taste is pretty much the same, with some bready malts and wheat upfront that gives way to a nice, slightly sour, tartness along with a bit of salt that’s rounded out with some sweetness from the currants. Love the sweet and sour flavors here, as they balance and compliment each other nicely. No discernible hop flavor here, and that’s not all unexpected. Has a mostly crisp, slightly prickly and sticky, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. This one really coats the inside of my mouth and palate and doesn’t want to let go. Has a fairly dry finish and sour, slightly salty aftertaste.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
