Roast and vanilla dominate the nose and give way to a roasty, sweet flavor that finishes with a dark stone fruit note.

12 fl oz pull-tab can:
"Vanilla Stout Ale." 11.5% ABV. 40 IBUs. "Stout Ale brewed with Vanilla Beans."
The vanilla isn't as pungent, luscious, or genuine as I'd like. The base beer (i.e. the beer that isn't additive-laden) isn't as roasty as would be ideal, either. Dark malts, specialty chocolate malt, maybe carafa.
Not coffee-redolent or overtly chocolatey. Has a nice balance of sweetness and dryness, never tending too cloying.
Lacks any overt hop flavour (to style).
A drinkable enjoyable imperial stout, though I wish it went bigger on the vanilla bean and I think it'd do well with more complexity. I'd sooner drink something like Dragon's Milk (which actually has more vanilla-forward flavours merely by virtue of its bourbon barrel vanillin) if I must have a high ABV vanilla imperial stout, not to mention the many vanilla bean-ed stouts that are less widely available (e.g. Bourbon County Brand Stout Vanilla) but this is a decent enough expression of the style. Glad to see it on the Oklahoma market.
