500ml can served in a flared pilsner glass. "Minimalna trvanlivost" date is 25.12.2023. Bought it somewhere in Europe, I would guess at 100piv in Bratislava.
Pours a rich reddish amber, slightly hazy, with a medium sized head, maybe a bit shy of what I want on a maerzen. But the color is pretty. Smell is nutty, grain husks, toasted bread.
There's a lot going on in the taste. Grain is clear, a combination of toffee and toasted nuts. There's a bitterness somewhere between grass and nutshells, with a pine resin twist that is surprisingly strong.
Mouthfeel is medium, leans a little toward the thick side, quite pleasant. Overall, this maybe deviates a little bit from the maerzens I am familiar with, but I like it very much.
