Smooth, full-bodied, and easy drinking Pale Ale named in honor of the iconic P-3 Orion, an aircraft which called Brunswick Naval Air Station home for nearly 50 years. When the Navy departed Brunswick, they left behind a P-3 Orion on display, right across the road from the brewery.

Fills a Strangebird IIPA glass with clear, pale gold (SRM 4-5). A short-lived, one-inch white foam falls to a quarter-inch blanket fairly quickly. Random carbonation forms a chaotic swarm of small bubbles as it reinforces the head. Slight lacing is left behind.
Pineapple and pine resin are both strong, with secondary grapefruit in the aroma.
The flavor is bitter, with sweetness far behind. The grapefruit and pine are muted in comparison to the aroma, with orange pith added to the mix. The finish is dry and very bitter as it lingers for a long while. Warmth brings out slight caramel.
The alcohol is well above expectations, as is the astringency. It has a medium body and a texture similar to stiff nylon. The carbonation is quite active.
This is a decent Pale Ale that sort of reminds me of an old school East Coast IPA. Much thanks to Dave.
