Unusually opaque yellow-tan with a fluid, headless surface over slightly clear edges.
Though listed as a saison, it has a very pungent Belgian funk with a lambic-like acidity. Rhubarb takes a backseat to tart plum-like notes through a slick body that, though not fully watery, is more like legitimate fruit juice. It's entirely still, so if it had even a little carbonation, it would have exhibited a much fuller body than some lambics.
In time, the nose adds a little peppery oak, but this attempted springtime celebration beer was a bit of a letdown in this backyard.
