NE style IPA with Mosaic, El Dorado, and Citra hops. Unfiltered and unclarified with heavy grapefruit on the nose and a refreshing finish. MEC is pure summer in a glass.

On tap at brewery:
They list this as a NE IPA, and it leans that way, bit not quite by my thoughts. In some regards, that's a good thing.
I openly admit that there's a god chance I am trying this beer quite fresh, and will likely be above average because of this.
This beer pours a hazy dark orange, but not anywhere near cloudy. The head is off white and covers the surface for the first third of the beer, with thick lacing during that time.
The nose is a dank tropical, a sort of discarded rind bitter funk (though not at all wild ale like). When I get into it, I get mango and guava with a citrus rind bitterness.
When I take a sip, everything I smelled transfers to my tongue. It's a little more bitter than I smelled, which I like. A quick hit of tropical, then a wash of bitterness. Medium feel with a nice rilling soft carbonation, letting the flavors shine.
This was a really good, mildly juicy but still bitter (without the face rip) IPA, in double form. If I am right that this is nicely fresh, and can hold up with a few weeks on it, it could push towards top notch.
