Purchased straight from the brewery on 4/16/20. $18/4pk16oz = $4.50/pint
Opaque grapefruit-peel yellow with a small white creamy head and lacing. Brash aroma of grapefruit rind without the tartness of the juice, with a little savory onion mixed in. Thick mouthfeel, but the sweetness is balanced well. Flavor is prickly chive, mellow grapefruit, and gummy bears. (Sensing a theme? Yeah, I know. I need to buy more exotic fruit before reviewing any more IPAs, so I have better descriptors.) Finishes with that slightly prickly juicy/savory mix that I imagine cactus juice to taste like. Overall, well-made, and most enjoyable as it warms and smooths out. It's a good beer. That being said, personally it doesn't stand out enough to make me want to buy more of it, especially considering the price.
Musical Equivalent: Ill Bill
