500ml bottle served in a Spiegelau tulip. Pours one shade shy of black with no head - just a thread-like band around the shoulders and dollops of oily spots across the surface. Nose gives off a big ethanol hit off the bottle pop, but mellows in the glass. Notes of butterscotch and toffee, as well as molasses, traces of wood and spirits. Taste is quite impressive -rich and chocolaty layered with coconut and crème brûlée. Finishes with a hint of cinnamon in the flavor profile. Mouthfeel is medium body with an almost still carbonation, a silky slickness to the texture and just a hint of acidity from the tannins in the wood. Overall, there is beer is dangerously balanced and drinkable at 11%. Top notch!
