This is my second time trying one of Buttonwoods’ “Rustic Industrial Ales”. I thought the blueberry one was quite good, so I figured I’d give this one a shot. I was actually going to the brewery to pick up for a trade last week and ended up grabbing this and some other stuff for myself as well. Let’s get into it
Pours a yellow hold with 2 fingers of creamy white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing
The nose is very tart and fruity, but there’s a great funk to keep things balanced. I’m picking up on aromas of peach rings, lemon juice, wildflower honey, peach pit, sharp oak, vanilla yogurt, orange juice, and dried apricot
And the funk intensifies in taste, incredible. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting jammy apricot, white wine vinegar, stone, lemon juice, peach pit, earthy wheat, traw, and peach skin. The swallow brings notes of peach pit, dried apricot, stone, dry oak, white pepper, peach rings, lime zest, wildflower honey, and straw
A light medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a sharp beer. Finishes bone dry and puckering
Damn, this knocks the blueberry one out of the park. Buttonwoods is impressing me these days
