And moving right along with the second chance I’m giving Buttonwoods, we have a Wild Ale with blueberries. I quite enjoyed the interesting zero IBU NEIPA I just had from them so I’m hoping they keep up the quality with this one. Let’s pop it open and find out what it’s all about
Pours a cloudy brownish orange with 2 fingers of frothy light beige head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing
The nose is quite tart, but there’s a light funk to it to keep it interesting. I’m picking up on aromas of blueberry skin, lemon juice, jammy blackberry, tannic red wine, dry oak, brown sugar, light bready malt, and vanilla
It’s quite similar in taste and I have no issues with that. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting blueberry skin, lemon juice, crackery malt, wet hay, tannic red wine, crabapple, crackery malt, and blackberry sorbet. The swallow brings notes of of blueberry skin, red wine vinegar, sharp oak, lemon juice, blackberry sorbet, old leather, wet hay, black pepper, and light vanilla
A medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a sharp beer. Finishes mostly dry with a a firm tartness
This is damn tasty. Tart and funky all the same with a geeat balance
